As far as Tamora Pierce books. [Alanna The first Adventure, In the Hand of the Goddess, Woman who Rides like a Man, and Song of the Lioness] are aimed for pre-teens, as such they are simplistic, and easy to read. That does not stop the heroine from being strong, and the books enjoyable. I read them when I was 13, and I am still reading them at 25. Guess I just can't get rid of them lol. The second Series, [Wild Magic, Wolf Speaker, Emperor Mage, and Realm of the Gods] is much the same way, as is the Third [First Test, Page, Squire, Lady Knight] Then we start moving on to more complex books, with seriously great characters these are probably aimed for slightly older readers... BUT I will highly recommend these. [Tricksters Choice, Tricksters Queen] - which follow the story of Alanna's daughter... and [Terrier] Being her newest, which takes place before any of the above mentioned, it is far enough back to not disturb your reading if you want to read this one first... [Bloodhound] should be coming out very shortly here... Again, amazing books....
