I'm a retired high school English teacher, so I LOVE reading! I usually have several books going at a time. As you can see, my interests are eclectic. I tend to go on "binges" of genres and will read everything an author has written when I find one I like. I'm always on the lookout for new authors to embrace!

I absolutely LOVE this book. The minute I finished it, I wanted to start over and read it again. Beautifully written, a haunting story, and memorable characters. Everything I want in a book and more!

Excellent book! Well-written, heart-breaking, but engrossing story of a very strange childhood.

I loved this book! It makes me want to find some really good Chinese food, which I guess will requite me to visit China! I'd love to do that too. Well-written, a delicious foodie book! We read it for my cooking group's Literary Luncheon and had a blast cooking and discussing the book. Yum!

Not the best of this series, (imho), but a good read!

Pretty good action. I'd read another of this series.

I really enjoyed this cozy mystery! It's a new take on the genre. Former public defender attorney, Juliet Applebaum is staying at home to raise her daughter, Ruby. She loves being a mommy, but occasionally misses the excitement of life as a public defender. When a mystery lands in her lap (the head of the pre-school they're trying to get Ruby in, is killed), she can't resist "helping" the surly detective assigned to the case. Of course she does, right before she delivers her son, Isaac. I will definitely read another in this series!

Pretty good "cozy" mystery about an embroidery shop owner who solves mysteries. Not much action, but likable characters.

If you're into classic literature, you might enjoy this revised take on the Trojan War. Simmons merges three storylines (which can get annoying at times) to tell how the ancients were conned into attacking the Olympic gods. The story ends before the true war with the gods begins, so you must read the sequel to find out what happens.

This book has interesting, well-developed characters, an intriguing sf view of the future, and fast-paced plot. It kept me reading once I was caught by the story and characters.

Not as good as Just Desserts, but entertaining.

I enjoy this series, but this isn't one of the best. Still, a good read.
