Hi Amy, I have found Power of a Praying wife to be so helpful. I was in a prayer group with 3 women and we used this to pray for our husbands, each time each selecting a prayer and then praying them together (and then through the week as well). The different prayers for different topics are so helpful, especially when you don't have the words to pray (or perhaps not in the right mindset initially, etc.). Most of the prayer is scriptural based too. Give it a try!
I’m at Morton College in Cicero. I think we offer technical classes, but I never get those questions at the desk; mostly Eng 101 research-type questions. I started near the end of the Spring 06 and like it so far. Hm.. my best advice for motherhood: get the epidural! Natural was a lofty goal, but once the real pain started they couldn’t hook me up fast enough! ;) Ooo… look at that belly! When are you due?
Hey Amy! I like this Shelfari thing. It's nice. I am really missing a good library or book store. All the books I have now are the ones I bought on a whim in the states before I came back. I'm nearing the end with those books. How I wish for a bookstore here! (We will never get one until people on the island become interested in books.) ;)
Amy is not just my friend, she is my sister. (It makes me laugh that it says "Amy is your friend" right above where I am writing this. Its very...affirming. "and darn it, people like me!" The books I am reading now are a George Robertson study on the book of Deuteronomy, A Celebration of a Life of Ruth Bell Graham, Age of opportunity-P.Tripp, and Each for Each other by Chappell. I am pretty into non-fiction on the whole although I do enjoy a novel when I give myself a break. Is this where I am to enter this info? :)
Thanks! O, looks can be deceiving. Those cuties were hopped up on the goof balls after tricks-or-treats last night. Took FOREVER for them to get to sleep already. Not trying to scare you or anything! ;) Hope all is going well with the pregnancy. We'll have to get together before the baby arrives! Also, job search over. I eventually found a part-time gig at a Jr. college and I’m pretty happy with it.
Pride and Prejudice is the most lively of Austen's books. Emma is the most caustic. But Persuasion is the most satisfying. Of course, good mysteries always have a place--that's why Moonstone.
CONGRATS! I saw the baby books on your shelf before I saw your note. When are you due?
Hi Amy! Expecting? Congratulations!
I will add P & P later, but it is not my most favorite Austen novel.
