I've read Three Cups of Tea, which i highly recommend. Now I am reading this book, and I am back on Google Earth to see where has been and what he's done.

Awesome story. Mortensen confirms what I learned believe about people who are different than me.

Gets more interesting as plot develops.

The wisdom and guile of Santiago is breathtaking.

One of the better autobiographies I've read. Obama describes himself based on values and lessons learned. And the knawing angst of wondering if he will ever fit in white or black America.

A very interesting layered examination of a young man's journey becoming an officer and scholar in the US Army.

My Dad died this year. And I am the black sheep of the family, and the book is insightful to me how one's grief is defined by their relationship to their parents.

One of Steinbeck's unknown gems. The bird dogs in the story serve as a powerful boundry to group gone mad.

I bought this book in 2000 during the presidential primary. It gave you insights on what makes Sen. Bradley tick. Then I read it again in 2004 when I was going through the Fire Academy. The lessons really applied to what I was doing and learning. I would suggest for anyone to read this book for the lessons that are taught. I would especially recommend this book for any kid 10-15 years old who is trying to figure out what they want to do in life.

Due to Willie Mays, I am a huge baseball Giants fan. I lived in the Bay Area when the Giant's and A's were playing in the World Series. I can't imagine having 3 teams competing to be in the World Series, with Red Sox antagonizing New York fans every year.
