I miss you Nicole. Thanks for dropping a line in my new Shelfari page. And yes, I saw the movie Startdust and would have to say that:1) The movie has to be appreciated on its own. Like many book-turned-into-film stories, it deviated from the original storyline, but is able to stand by its own merits. 2) Claire Daines is not the “best” Star for the movie. Although I did love her monologue (that was not in the book) in the witch’s caravan where she “confessed” her love for Tristran (Tristan in the movie)3) I hate not seeing my favorite characters in the film (i.e. the people from the “Fellowship of the Castle”)4) I loved the new character of Capt. Shakespeare(Robert De Niro) and his being a closet-gay-pirate-captain.5) The sappy-and-romantic person in me preferred the movie’s happy ending.
