Yes, it's a photo from the early 80s, sitting on the steps of El Castillo. If you've been there, yo know that the distant views we usually see of the pyramid don't do justice to the number and rise of the steps and how hard they are to climb in the heat and humidity of Yucatan.
Dear Hahtoolah,Right now, we can use your compassion because one of our members has posted Unhappy News in the group Mentoring Men. Please stop by and offer your condolences.Remember to check the discussion boxes so that you can be notified of new postings as you desire
I loved To Die For. How interesting re Joyce Maynard! The Lovely Bones was hard to read but so good. I did enjoy Joy in the Morning too.
Great to see you in the shul's social hall! Would you consider being an administrator, thereby putting you on the shul's board of directors?Don't feel obligated if you have any reservations or your time does not allow.
An Easy Fast!
I am glad your congregation has a Rabbi; there are many small communities who don't, or can't afford a Rabbi. Such a shandah!
I posted this under your Spa entry at RIT, but just in case you don't see it there:Hahtoolah - I had no idea you were caught up in the effects of Hurricane Gustav. I'm so glad you made it through that nightmare. You just take all the time you need at the Spa -- try everything and stay as long as you like. After your experience, I'm sure everyone agrees you need it. And have a bunch of desserts too. No calories. I promise. With all you've got going on, I cannot tell hou how much I appreciate your continued participation at RIT. I think that's worth a whole bunch of Attagirls! :)

Hahtoolah power came back on and like you am catching up on laundry, we go through lots of clothes in the heat and did not know what we would do if this had kept up. Oh so happy but sad that some people in the area are not so fortunate. This storm has touched so many lives and my heart go's out to all the poor people who are still suffering.
yes I am fine the winds were a surprise, two trees came down in our garden but house and we are ok. They are saying power back in five days who know's.
May you and your family be signed and sealed for a year of simcha, prosperity and many blessings. And, may we be blessed to see Moshiach soon and in our days!
Hi, thank you for you interest in our Reading is For Winners group. Unfortunately, since this is for a school group, I'm told I have to remove any members who aren't in my class or school. Thanks for your understanding.
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner about Blackberry Wine. I really loved it. Maybe not as much as Holy Fools but it might just end up on my favorite list. The way she brings a little mystic note in all her novels is so interesting.
I really enjoyed Water for Elephants. Have you read any Louise ERdrich? I am reading, the Plague of Doves, and it's amazing!
OMG....that tree is a state treasure. So sad. We do love our trees here. Couldn't live anywhere that wasn't green.
Hahtoolah, Were you amazed at the amount of trees that were uprooted. I'm so glad you guys are okay and have your power back. Have a great week, Reen
Hahtoolah, I am thinking about you, but that dos'nt help if you are without power etc. I am not sure how much the storm has touched you, I hope not at all my friend. Keep in touch when you can and I will never forget you.
