My first husband read a lot. But he also wore women's clothes, drank and snorted cocaine all day and beat me up so I'll take John, the Non-reader over that one any day!

I've got a Kindle. I read much more easily on it and I don't have to turn those pesky pages, though sometimes having to move my thumb to the arrow is a bit much. I'm thinking they need to come up with a Kindle where you can just gently blow on the page turner, staying otherwise stock still. I believe a life with the least amount of movement in it possible is a life well lived, especially if you can get someone to bring you cocktails. I cannot imagine my life without books. My mother gave me the joy of books as a child and I've never lost it. There's such a huge world of imagination available. I feel sad for those who don't enjoy them. But speaking of hard copies, is that how you read A Staggering Work of...Genius? Because as I said it's only available as an audio book on Amazon.

Yes, you and I agree about witty v. funny. In the 13 years I have been married to John, he has read about 4 books. No, I would not call that a big reader. However, his main complaint is that it is uncomfortable to hold the book while lying down in bed, which is when he reads and I just got him an iPad so maybe with the eReader app, he'll start reading more but I doubt it. He reads 6 newspapers a day. He's not stupid or illiterate, he just doesn't love books. I love books like I love air.

I did enjoy One Day. I'd say more but I don't know if your other followers can read this and I don't want to spoil it. I thought it was extremely well written but not as funny as I expected, though very witty...if you know what I mean by the difference between the two. I'll check out Special Topics...Love, K

Hi - I wanted to read a Staggering Work of Breathtaking
Genius but it's only available as an audio book for Kindle. What's up with that? So, I'm thinking of The Skin of A Lion. What do you think? Any other ideas? I like fiction better than memoirs or that stuff.
