    Hi Abdullah..
i c that u have added "Iran Awakening" to your Wish List. Good choice! (as if i'm not the one who recommended this :p)
I really enjoyed reading this one; very inspiring and informative. It's both an autobiography of the nobel prize winner Shirin Ebadi and a reflection of the political history of Iran as experienced by the author.

    Wish u enjoy it.

Hmmm.. well now! let's talk about A Brief History of Time, a master piece that I'll keep recommending again and again. IMPRESSIVE is not enough to describe it. the man - Hawking- is genius, not only as a scientist but also as a writer who simplifies the most complicated theories. He simply knows what u need to know - sth that u may not know yourself. The book defines and explains some of the most influential physical theories and goes on relating the story of our universe (from the Big Bang to black holes as the title put it).
If u liked this one, try also "'The Universe in a Nutshell"

    Hi Abdullah
i've read "Who moved my cheese" long time ago. All that is left in my bad memory is a light good book that u can finish in less than one hour. Though I'm not interested in self-development books anymore (after reading so many), i still find this one inspiring. it's a kind of a fable- a story of two mice - the moral of which is to cope with the changes of life. That's all!

Abdullah, I too dropped Marya a note on the Corruption of Moslem minds. Would welcome both a connection and your insights. As well, Christianity is about as monolithic humanity is. There are literally hundreds of opposing points of views. Many claiming they are right and all others are wrong. Do not assume that fundamentalist Christians represent Christians. Many of us, probably most, have inclusive world views of faith.

I totally agree with your note posted 5 days ago. I believe that reading help us understand others better. through reading not only we accept differences but also respect the other right to be different. this would lead us to learn from each other and hence improve our selves. Today I will start reading the book "who moved my cheese" from the reviews I read it seems interesting !! it is a small book, and hope I can easily read it coz I am not very much used to reading in English.. I feel that the language seems to be a barrier preventing me from enjoying reading.. at least this is how I felt when i was reading a book in English few years ago. but I must train my self on reading books in English because it is not easy to find a good translation to Arabic ,, besides; very few books get translated to Arabic.

Good morning/evening ! Abdullah.. I am lucky to have known you through this website. Thanks a lot for the review,, I must really read this book. I believe it is almost mandatory that the author can not be 100% objective, therefore his beliefs and concept of life must reflect/interfere in his writings. This is the same case in the book of Heresy, the author is Catholic and his perception of Heresy is – in my opinion – not very objective. It slipped my mind to mention that it was also surprising to me to know how much blood was shed, and the amount of cruelty in Europe that was involved in dealing with Heresies !!! which made me curious about knowing about that in our society. I do know that there has been also cruelty in this regard, but my information about that is actually limited. I read few years back a book very much similar to the one I am reading now, it was listing all the FIRAK in Islam, but the author was much more objective actually, and the book did not include details about circumstances but was just plainly listing beliefs of each Firka, its concept, main different practices, how it started, and where it is mostly available. This book actually made me change my mind about Shiiat , it is amazing how many wrong pre fixed ideas we have !!! don’t you think ? to wrap up this note I would like to say : AMEEEEEEEEEEEN to your comment " i guess freedom of speech is one other blessing we weren't lucky enough to experience back home...”.
Have a nice day.. & always be happy :)

am reading now the Arabic translation of a French book called " Heresey in Christianity " . unfortunately I was un able to find it on shelfari , nor on Amazon. it is an interesting book actually. listing the heresies in christianity since the year 300. I was surprised to learn that not few actually beleived christ is a prophet, or that he was not son of God.
