Hi Geze! I'm from the Author Author group and just wanted to welcome you to our group. As you might already know, January's "featured" author is Neil Gaiman, and we have two "secondary" authors, Ursula Le Guin and Terry Pratchett. If you're interested, you can choose a book written by one of these three authors, and after you've read it, please come post a review and star rating so the rest of us in the group know what you read and whether you liked it or not. Happy Reading!

I know my welcome is a bit late, but we're just getting caught up!

Looked at a house on Lowther, asking price two million six hundred thousand LOL but 5mins from Yorkville and beautiful. Maybe the price will come down two $200, 600 then we aill snap it up LOL

Hi Gene: In a recent NY Times article on Solzhenitsyn's life, I found it interesting to read that Solzhenitsyn originally had to commit "One Day" to memory in a Labor Camp by means of rosary beads made up of chewed bread pieces. The article noted, "each piece represented a passage that he would repeat to himself until he could say it without hesitation." Also fascinating was the interest that Khrushchev took in reading "One Day," and the role that both he and the book had in making Solzhenitsyn famous! Regards, Scott

Geze: I don't know if you read where Solzhenitsyn died today at age 89? The world would have been a poorer place without his writings! Regards, Scott

Geze how are you? hope you are enjoying summer time in Toronto and also that its a little cooler than here, we seem to stick in the 90's and now and then get a break and drop into the 80's..90 degree's is to hot to enjoy I can take 80 degree's.Well I have found the root of my knee pain 'MY BACK' yes honest..frightening, how can a doctor treat a patient for eighteen months and get paid for it! when she does not have arthritis. I finally had enough and went to see a knee surgeon, he sent me for an MRI which I had asked the other doctor for and he said he could see as much with an x-ray, not so. After looking at the MRI the knee surgeon said I did not have athritis and the pain was my back (he also did a back x-ray) go for a MRI on my back Wednesday and then back surgery because when I saw the x-ray of my back there is something wrong. I really dislike doctors now I hate them!. Think the probem here is the insurance company's its a little disturbing to have an insurance company looking after your health. Well thats about it for here, was in so much pain could not even read so can not tell you about any good books. Oh well maybe this time next year all will be well. take care my friend.Sheila
