Hi Lama! I don't know how to read books from this site...sorry! My Masters was in the politics, security and history of the Middle East. I spent most of my time on social mobilization and Islamist movements. I do have several sources (authors) I can recommend...John Esposito, Karen Armstrong, Amin Saikal, Edward Said, Fawaz Gerges, Gilles Kepel and Oliver Roy. All of them write in English or French, so I hope that you can find them. They are rather popular among academic circles. Any of the major US Universities are great for websites, also, The Arab Reform Bulletin with the Carnegie Endowment for Peace has a great webnewsletter and the Middle East Report Online, and even a blog by Dr. Marc Lynch called "Abu Aardvark". You can put all of these items into Google individually and they should lead you to the websites. Let me know if you have any problems finding them. Mashallah, good luck with your thesis work, I know how hard that can be. Inshallah, you will do well! :)

Shukran for your prayers! I have two Masters--one in Middle East studies and the other in Professional Aeronautics. I hope all is well--I am reading What is the What right now, I love it. It's a story about one of the "Lost Boys" who walks through Sudan to a refugee camp in Kenya and then is brought to the U.S. It's very emotional and touching. I finished The Girls of Riyadh. Have you read it yet? If so, what did you think? I'm curious about your perspective on it? Have a wonderful day, Inshallah! --your sister in Islam.
