I'm coming from Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina and am about to graduate from college. I read books ever since I can remember. When I don't read, I write. I have published two poetry books so far and my works have been translated into Polish and English. I like to read good essays( Roland Barthes, Susan Sontag, Peter Zumthor, Alain de Botton, Umberto Eco...), prose, etc. The older I get, the more I read philosophy. I am especially fascinated by Japanese haiku, Middle-Eastern literature(the epic Gilgamesh) and authors with a sense of humor (Bukowski, Rabelais...). I don't know if authors still possess the power to change things in a world where art has been castrated by the general loss of interest for anything that isn't shallow and superficial. But I still feel the need to write, and for me, there can't be a day without a sentence at least. Now I started doing art photography too. Taking photos is like writing short stories- a moment frozen in time, a pointing finger aimed at the world. I want to be that finger, and I've been trying to for almost 10 years now.
