I am a senior(some Americans think this is a college age, in England this means I am old) , I like to read a lot but I lean very much towards sci//fi/-fantasy mostly though if i think i will like a book, i will read it. Mostly i get those books from the library, if it is one I really like and have read others by the author or in the series,... more »

Working on Dissolution, will get to the others, sooner or later. As someone from England, what is your feeling about Henry and his dissolution of the monastaries, way back when??

Is Dark Fire next?? I have that on my wish list. I have no idea how many there are. Most likely Melissa or Sabina can tell us.

    hi Evelyn,
so sorry to hear that you've been ill. Have you published any of your writing yet??? I hope you have. my students love your poems and short stories.
I'm very busy too, I have As level classes of English language this year and it's a big challenge to teach such a difficult subject to students who don't have enough knowledge of English. but it's fun. hope you are never sick again!

No worries, Evelyn! We found someone else to choose the 3rd author. You are welcome to sign up to choose an author again, but you now know that you may be restricted to a theme. We've also added an FAQ to the group, so hopefully people will understand that that's how it works.

I quite enjoy the Historical Fiction group, as well. Though a good portion of my historical fiction concerns the Tudors. I am branching out, but a lot of it still includes British royalty!

I've just started it, but I read Murder on the Leviathan and it's terrific. I hear Akunin is the undisputed crime master of Russia, and I believe it. He writes canny stuff. I recommend Leviathan wholeheartedly.

Hi, again. A couple of people have tried to help you out in the group for Author Author. We're still hoping you'll be willing to choose someone for us. Please send me a personal message, or just reply to the message I sent once you have chosen an author. (I have two alternate authors coming, and would like to announce them at the same time.) Thanks!

Oh, wow, 10 out of 10 for persistence and endurance with Thomas Covenant!

Was the book you mentioned called Spring (Hyddenworld) by William Horwood (writer of the Duncton Wood series)? I have it but haven't read it yet. The second in the series, Awakening, is available now, too.

I used to read the likes of Ursula Le Guin years ago, but have moved on from that type of fantasy.

Thanks for mentioning Make Room, Make Room! It sounds very good. I vaguely remember seeing the film based on the book, Soylent Green with Charlton Heston, many years ago.

Yup, it's perfectly legal since I'm the author of the book and would be giving away a free copy. I frequently give out copies of my book as promotions. I would just need your e-mail address, and then I can send you a coupon for a free download a copy from Smashwords.com

I *really* appreciate you being so conscientious about this issue, too. E-piracy is a real problem for authors like me, and I'm glad that people understand that : )

I've never heard of Bookrix, so I will definitely check that out!

    Thanks again :)

Hey Evelyn, it's nice to meet you! Half the time, I don't know what genre I'm writing in, either! I *love* my Kindle, too! If you are ever interested in reviewing my YA romantic fantasy, Uncommon Magic, I'd be happy to forward a Kindle copy your way.

Hey Evelyn, thanks for the welcome. I read much more urban fantasy/PNR now but loved Isaac Asimov's SF books. Also enjoyed Joshua Dann's Timeshare series, Warren Norwood's Time Police series, Philip Jose Farmer's Dayworld series and Eric Brown's Virex trilogy. Time travel has always appealed to me. Stephen Donaldson's Gap series was pretty good, too (unlike the insufferable Thomas Covenant series, IMO!). What are your SF favourites?
