I am a 6th grade English teacher who loves to be active and loves to read!! During the school year I just love to read tons of adolescent literature and share those books with my students! During my "off-teaching time," I enjoy adult authors as well!

Mary Downing Hahn is definitely becoming one of my favorite adolescent literature authors! This is a ghost story that middle school students love! I kept wanting to read more to find out everthing about Teresa!

Sharon Creech never disappoints me. This novel is written as a teenage girl's summer journal that she has to write for her English teacher. The two main topics are her cousin who came to live with them for the summer and Alex, the boy she has a huge crush on. A quick read, easy read that did throw me a curve toward the end.

Everyday, my students wanted to know what was happening as I read this. They loved the creepy idea of the cut off hand showing up places and doing things. A cute, fun ghost story.

Definitely written for an audience of teenage girls. A good first novel exposing those typical things girls face: other girls, boys, dances, issues with mom.

A realistic (though not so realistic) fiction novel about a girl who seeks answers about where her real dad is and what really happend with her twin sister , whom she thought had drowned years ago. A good theme about what family really means.

A great novel about what the term "home" really means. After Grady and his mom move from place to place, they finally settle into a place where they feel a sense of home and develop a sincere relationship with an elderly man named Charlie.

Being a teacher, I truly enjoyed this book about a relationship between a teacher and a student. The student starts out thinking his teacher hates him. Throughout the novel he develops a bond with her as she teaches him to understand/enjoy Shakespeare and even helps him with his running abilities. He is shocked that his teacher DOES care :)
