Ok, I haven't actually finished it... to many other books came out that I wanted to read. What I read of it was very good though and many people really seem to like it. I need to check it out from the library again as I have now finished the must read books on my list. Things like Catching Fire and Forest Born just seemed to keep jumping ahead of the Poisonwood Bible.
Glad to see new faces at the 'Politics of Food' forum! 'She' is an awesome & thoughtful discussion partner... but too often it's just the two of us in there! And, unfortunately (for debate purposes), we agree on a whole lot of stuff.... (sigh!).... so, welcome!
PS-- Fellow Stewart/ Colbert fan here; also, the Lorax ROCKS! And Herriot was an author I read a lot of, growing up, while I considered veterinary medicine as a career (I ended up pursuing occupational therapy instead, but now my teenage son is headed that way!)... and at this very moment, my 5-year-old niece is having one of the Harry Potter novels (I forget which one) read to her, as her VERY FIRST chapter book... So what I'm saying is: great shelf!
Also: are you aware of 'The Alexandria Forum'? I've enjoyed that one too; if you're interested in spirituality issues as well as ethical food choices, you might like it.... I joined with some trepidation, but have found it very thought provoking & interesting.
Anyway... have a great day!
That 50 book challenge sounds cool! I don't know if I would be able to do it though. :P
Cool! I hope It's a good book... I haven't read any of the other city of ember books, but if/when I do, I'll try to get them in order... I think it's The People of Sparks, The Prophet of Yonwood, then The Diamond of Darkhold.... so I'll probally get the Prophet of Yonwood after the People of Sparks.... :)
I looked at a couple on you guys' shelf, and I saw The Boy in Striped Pajamas, and was wondering if it's any good... I saw an ad for the movie, and thought it looked intresting... I also saw Twisted on you and Dana's shelf... is that a good book?
It's good your staying busy. :) We haven't joined the book club there... I did in the winter though. it was fun. I'm going to voulenteer at my library, so that will be intresting... :D
Have a good day!
Yeah. I like not having to keep real paper lists of books i want... so this is handy. :)
I just ordered The People of Sparks. I'm hoping it will be good... but I can't thing of any old books I read other than the ones I already have, so I'm hoping to fill my shelf a little more. :D
How are you doing?
