My affinity for books began when I was in elementary school. Around the third grade my mom purchased a gift set of The Baby-sitters club, books 1,2 and 3. Once I opened the first book I was hooked. Over the years I have read many many books. Currenty I am particulary drawn to books about slavery, race relations, politics etc. I love other types of books as well. I am always in search of a great page turner.
About five years ago I had this overwhelming desire to learn more about the role of the american president. So I decided to research the office, all of our presidents past and present, all branches of the governent including the CIA, INS, FBI as well as something called the shadow government.Sounds kind of OCD but hey knowledge is power right. I never satisfied that curiosity. Life happens and that had to be put on the back burner. But thankfully I have found this site, (yippee) and with the help of the 50 book challange I think that dream and many other curiosities will be fullfilled. With this challange I can research 50 books that I would like to read for the year and move forward. Futhermore I am just beyound excited to be amongst other readers.
Some other information you might like to know about me is I have a degree in Mass Communications (Journalism) and I minored in Political Science. I am married to a great guy and we have a three year old son. As of January 08, we welcomed our second son into our life. I love to spend time with them. I can't describe the joy I feel when whe are all together. It just makes my heart sing.
Lastly my favorite part of the day is when I can steep a cup of tea, or a make hot chocolate, sit on a comfy chair with a soft blanket and read. These days I don't get to read as much as I would like but I make the most of the time I have. So, if you have any suggestions for a book you think I may like just leave me a note. Thanks
