I thought the other 3 books I read by Emily Giffen were good, and I didn't start reading them expecting depth. But I can feel more for the characters if I have some empathy; which I hadn't felt for the one character. The classics you mentioned are books I've read years ago- and don't have the emotional energy to put into these days! Thanks though!
