Hi,
I am a nurse in my thirties who has been an avid reader since childhood, I think the first series of books I read and really enjoyed was the Laura Ingless Wilder Little House collection. Since I dont have children, though I do spend alot of time with my niece and nephews, I get to enjoy alot of reading time. I like to think that I had... more »

He will love that-he did like the stink book, and there are quite a few in the series. He loves the Whimpy Kid stuff too! I know both my kids liked the Captin Underpants series, but I did not because they spell the words wrong, and I did not like that they were reading mispelled words-although they did not seem to care. I can not wait until we see New Moon-I am so obsessed!!!! I finished The Weight of Silence quickly-I really wanted to find out what happened so I kept on reading. I also started Edward Sawtelle, I hope I like it--it is long.

They are pretty good, but I would have to say that the Diary of a Whimpy Kid books are better. The Black Lagoon books are okay too. I also like the I Spy books.

Glad you liked it. I'm reading Eclipse now. I finished New Moon and couldn't stop. Have you read Shadow of the Wind? It was a good one.

Did you see the new Michael J. Fox memoir coming out? I liked his 1st one so much and have wondered how he was doing these last 10 yrs., so, I definitely want to read the new one. Lately, I've been more into non-fiction and memoirs, I've noticed since November, my reading habits have been one Fiction, then one Non-fiction to balance out my literature repertoire. :)

How did you like Midnight Sun?? I thought it was almost better than Twilight. Sorry we keep missing out getting together-hope we can do it next week-I would love to catch up with you!! Hope all is well; talk to you soon!
P.S.-I am reading Testimony now and it is very good so far; The Shack was quite a disappointment.

Hey, I own Angela's Ashes if you want to borrow it. I read it years ago, and I didn't like it very much, it was kind of gross. I do like the author, Frank McCourt, though, I've seen shows about him touring the pubs of Ireland and he seems like a cool, old guy.

I also have Barefoot-you will have to tell me how it is. I just picked up Testimony by Anita Shrieve, and plan to read that after The Shack-which I am having a hard time getting into. Nothing seems comparable after reading the Twilight series and it is like Harry Potter for me all over again; it took me forever to get over the ending of that too! Talk to you soon!

Let's see...definitely The Book Thief, I Capture the Castle and Into the Wild. Hon. mention to The Power of One, cuz I'm only 3/4 way through, or else it would be 3rd.

What were your top 3 favorite reads in 2008? They needn't have been written in 08, just when u read them.
