My favorite genre is fantasy. I tend to read a wide variety of books and get exposed to things I would not necessarily read on my own by participating in two book clubs. I am known to read more than 1 book at a time. Lately I have been reading three or more books at the same time, and they keep on piling up!

Yah, thanks for reminding me...now I've switched it to the right shelf :-). I need to return the book to you now. And yes, I'm enjoying MSK. I'm over half way through it...getting through it little by little. It's really good.

We should def go in the gift for Heid, I liked the idea. If you're okay to get it, I'll be sure to reimburse you if you are okay to do it that way. Just let me know whatever way you want to do it. You going to be at her party on Sat night? I told her I'd try and come. Okay, talk soon! xoxo

Some where I saw you asking if you should read "Confessions of a Jane Austin Addict". Although, I have not read the other authors you have read, and have only one Austin book under my classics thin belt, I would say yes. As it is time travel, I had all the necessary Austin things explained to my while reading it. This is less of an Austin book, more of a why do I always fall for the loser book. I read it over one night. I just could not put it down, very funny and very well written.

You'd have a whole month to read it though! I could help you plan out how many pages per day you'd have to read in order to be done by the book club night. :-D

I'd actually like to join a book club but I find myself talking a lot longer to finish a book because of my time structures so everyone would just think I'm a slow-poke! Even though I love to read them, they just take me awhile to complete.

Thank you for letting me know. I Can definately see and understand your reaction. I tend to agree that with patty being sensitive to violence those parts might be a problem for her.

I hope that I didn't offend you or upset you. I guess I tend to be desensitized to violence unless it gets extreme, so to me the book is even tamer then Eclipse.

Hi jen, I am patty's sister Amanda. I was talking to her about Breaking Dawn (I've read it) and she was mentioning that you think the violence might get to her. It made me curious about what parts you think are violent and going to get to her.

    Hola Jen,

    How goes it?

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter! Is she your first?

I hear you about writing and the publication process. I tried giving my manuscript to a literary agent and that was a waste of time. I wound up going with independent publishing because it is becoming very popular. I have received a few offers from publishers to take on my book, but nothing lucrative.

That really seems to be best way for new writers to break into the world of book-selling. Put out the best product you can through an "indy" and if it is good it will eventually get noticed.

Well, I have to run. Again, congrats with the new addition to your family!

    Happy reading...

    Morning Jen,

Thanks for the suggestions. I never heard of "Snow Falling..." but the other three I am a familiar with. I will trust you and check out that one or "Their Eyes..." next. I'll let you know...

I am reading "A Thousand Splendid Suns" right now because I loved "The Kite Runner" when it came out. It's well-written, but never completed pulled me in.

So, aside from the book thing, what else would you care to share about yourself?

Hey, Jen! Are you reading Gatsby for your other book club?? I read that 20 years ago, maybe it's time for a reread. If you haven't seen the movie "Last Call," it's about Fitzgerald's last months, based on the journal entries of a young woman he hired to be his secretary, and who was with him to the end -- quite a good movie if you're a fan of the author, starring Jeremy Irons as Fitzgerald.
