Kim

I read. I raise daughters. I teach middle school English to gifted kids. I shop, cook, clean, recycle everything and then read some more. It's a good life, and books make it more so. Someday I hope to read on the beach, but for now I read in the carpool lane.

Just wanted to let you know that my new novel, Dirty Little Angels, is now available. I thought you might like it since it’s been compared to Daniel Woodrell, whom I noticed was on your shelf. Here’s a link to the Shelfari page in case you’re interested:

    Thanks,

Is this the first time you have read The Book Thief? Amazing novel! You are going to love it! It took me a while to get used to the narrator being death and the style in which death speaks, but then it took off!

I just finished one about Charles II and his favorite mistriss. I'll bring that one and the one about Victoria out the next time I see you. I'm still adding stuff. I'll be in GA for a week so I bet I'll get a lot added then.

    UBD training?? What is that?
I have not read Poisonwood Bible , but I have heard great things about it! I don't think I"ll get it in before school starts. And once the school year begins, I will reading tons of adolescent literature!

I have not read Fever but heard it was great from several students. Tree in Brooklyn is actually pretty good. You know how there are books you just feel like you SHOULD read? :)

Okay! I am glad you cleared that up! :) I was confused as to who wrote that! Yep, Wade's book is all about experiences in St. Louis! I CAN'T WAIT to read it! When I read his frist novel, I knew two of the characters! It was so weird to read. I"ll fill you in in person :) But you are right on track with your thoughts !

Kim, I worked with Wade Rouse (author of conessions of a prep school....) for 6 years! I can fill you in on the truth about who is writing about in that book! It's a school here in St. Louis! Too funny! I read his first novel about coming out as being gay and I can't wait to read this second novel, especially since I know some of the "characters" in his novels! It's SOOOOOOOO werid!
