Meriwether

Meriwether

I look to the aesthetics of improvisational jazz for inspiration in my writing, I write and illustrate children's books, I live next door to a clown, and I say strange and random things.

I saw below that you're taking Greek! Excellent endeavor, dear friend. I ordered a copy of Wheelock's Latin sent to my mom so she can bring it when she comes to visit in September... I'm realizing Latin (and Greek, for that matter) is the key to quickly building a vocabulary of international cognates -- which I greatly need living in Central Europe. :)

    Hello Persephone,
I like your online name. Nice choice. You have a great list of titles that you plan to read. You might be interested to know that Eric Luper, the author of Big Slick visited Long Island last week and spoke on reaching reluctant readers (excellent presentation btw) and he mentioned that The Phantom Tollbooth was the one book he truly enjoyed as a reluctant reader.
Wish you were in the NYC area and I would invite you to our September 4 event. Sara Varon, the author is coming!

Hi there, I saw on Booter09's page that you're an aspiring YA novelist. Have you read Skelling? My son and I are reading it right now, and it's the best YA novel I've read in quite some time. It's helped me understand how deep a writer can get when writing YA.
