    Hi Grace,
I am so sorry I didn't write Grace. How can we not be friends! Friendship isn't something that will disappear overnight. I will remain your friend as long as I live. I don't see any reason why I shouldn't. Friendships are made for life, unless of course there is some kind of a fraud involved. In our case we didn't become friends to gain anything, except may be knowledge and understanding. Sharing these things doesn't make any demand on another person except may be some TIME.
    Good day Grace
    Take care

    Hi Grace,
Nice to hear from you. Your job is really interesting. Two days ago I saw a documentry on BBC about Nigerian legal system. The conflict between Sharia laws and the normal legal system in Nigeria. It was very interesting. Do you come across cases where there is conflict between the two systems?
I saw a man (thief) who willingly agreed to chop his hands off claiming he was a good Muslim and had to accept the ruling of the Sharia court although he could go in appeal. BBC also showed some people being flogged for theft etc. What is the concept of Human Rights in Nigerian Law? Does Sharia law have any such concepts?
Hope I am not bothering you with too many questions.
    Regards
    take care

    Hi Grace,
Nice long note. I am an Orthodox Christian. Will be celebrating christmas, but away from home. My family is in India (Kochin, Kerala). So there won't be much of a celebration.
Going back to school sounds good, but doesn't look practical though, honestly too old for that I think.
But independence I do crave, may be I will venture out into some business after some time, may be selling books, who knows, for that's the only thing I really love.
    Take care Grace.
happy holidays and a merry Christmas. We might exchange notes before christmas anyway
    Good day

    Hi Grace,
that's more than enough. The important thing is you responded and gave me some names. Then what are you reading these days.
When do you go to court?
What sort of legal system is followed in Nigeria. I too did law, two years, then I went into journalism. Sometimes I regret not having completed law as I could have been far more independent as a lawyer
    Thanks once again
    Take care

    Hi Grace
Can you please list out the best (selling) books in the Nigeria in 2007: 4--5 books among good fiction; 4-5 among fiction (the Harry Potter kind), and 4--5 among non-fiction. I am doing a year-ender story on books.
Hope I'm not unduly troubling you. Since you like books i thought may be you will enjoy listing them out
    regards

    Hi Grace,
That was a lovely note. Thanks. I would like to visit Nigeria, but unfortunately, I can't afford it now. My country too is very diverse in nature and very beautiful, at least my state in Southern India. it's called Kerala and the tourism department calls it 'God's Own Country'. It's peaceful and lovely, with lots of small rivers, backwaters, the sea, small mountains. But it's hot , and it rains for at least 5 months a year.
I am now in Oman (Muscat) working in a newspaper here, but I don't really like it here and may go back home any time. I am reading The Heart of a Woman by Maya Angelou. It's listed on my shelf. It's wonderful. you should read it.
    Bye

    Hi Grace,
Thanks for the note. I requested your friendship for two things: one is that you love books, which I too do; secondly you are the only Nigerian I have come across in Shelfari, and I wanted a Nigerian friend. I am a journalist, in Muscat (Oman) for now. Through you I thought I could, may be, know and understand more about Nigeria and its people.
    Good day
    Take care
