I am a 34 year old mum of two children - Portia, 4+ y.o. and Stephen 1 1/2 y.o. I do casual teaching in primary schools on the days my children are in Day Care. I enjoy a variety of books, mostly fiction. I am enjoying the suggestions and recommendations from Shelfari groups and users, it has added an injection of variety to my current reading.
I'm originally from the USA (born in Iowa, grew up in Connecticut, college and beyond in Boston) (Wellesley College and Boston University) but moved to Sydney, Australia with my husband (an Aussie) in 2000. I enjoy reading, dancing, swimming, crocheting and many other things. My husband and I lead a family-oriented fellowship and study group at our church.
I've worked in libraries, offices (reception, admin assistant, etc.) as public funding director at a homeless shelter in Boston and as a casual/relief teacher in Sydney. Most recently I have worked as Personal Assistant to Ian Jagelman at the Jagelman Institute, a Christian leadership training institute in Sydney (http://www.jaginst.org) Currently I am a SAHM, but have started relief teaching again on the days my kids are in Day Care.
I look forward to discussing books with folks on this site.
