Hey P, yes I know, I know... ;~D I just got back from vacation yesterday. And while we were away my friend Debbie introduced me to Paul Coelho & Don Miguel Luis. So I am starting with Coelho's "The Alchemist."

I think it's Anthony Walker The Duppy, I'm on the look out for it and he has a few more books out as well.

I read a lot back to back and then can't read for about a week or two lol. I'm still on my two Coelho books

I have a Jamaican writer on my Wish List, but I'll have to buy his books as they don't carry them in the library here. Definitely let me know about other Carib authors out there, it's so hard to find fiction by us.

I love a good book sale! I go to the libraries when they are selling books and get them for $2 or less. And Borders sends out the the 40 and 50% coupons to members all the time. I can read at work so I get a lot of reading done when I want to lol. I just finished up The Double Bind and am now reading both of my Paulo Coelho checkouts as they are due back today.

Oh definitely put it on your TBR! It's such a good heart rending, the grandmother is a character that is selfless and my favourite.

    What are you reading now?

They are a nice and quick beach read, Tears of the Giraffe was much better IMHO. I am taking a break from the series now to finish off The Space Between us by Thrity Umrigar and my other two Paulo Coelho novels.

    Take care

I just completed Maria Shriver's 'Just who will you be." I am still trying to complete Gullivers Travels and Hard Times. I like the classics. Bought some of them in Spanish as well so I'll have my hands full this summer. How about you?

    Hey Paula,

I've finished No. 1 Ladies Detective agency and I enjoyed very much! I am on Tears of the Giraffe now, this one is better in my opinion :)

I have not started to read it yet, I'm going to finish up the No.1 Ladies Detective Agency series and then start on this one, it's almost 1000 pages in small print so I'll need a week to finish it lol

I had rented it from the library but sent it back without even trying to read it. When you get around to it tell me what you think of it

I am now on to the last women's story and I am still not impressed. This book had the potential to explore so many issues. I think that author did the story a disservice by trying to cram all three women in one book.

The only parts that was touching to me so far was when Yellow John walked all the way from Virginia to meet Elizabeth and when the family was all in one place.

Thanks for the comment. The only other comments/reviews that I could find on this book were very positive. It felt that no one shared my opinion on this book.
