Slavery of the mind is that state in which man does not know the better alternative because he is so concerned with his own mind. This state of mind clogs the imagination, like a drug, so that a person cannot possibly thing of certain things at all.

He cannot even say, "I see what you mean," not only because he has never thought of the... more »

    Dear Alvin,
I certainly agree faith in God is a gift from God and is God's work... the enlightenment that results is the Light of God that brings Truth, peace and Joy and certainly different from wordly reasoning/enlightenment...which has led the world only into confusion, darkness and more wickedness disguised as progress. Christ speaks about the single eye again to recommend focus and a narrow direction - not a wandering perspective...that leads to light that is only great darkness.

Matth 6:[22] The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. [23] But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

    God bless you...my friends

There are many things we can and do not validate about the claims of the pilot of an airflight and the state of the aircraft yet we get onboard...we are taught to live by faith...it is our faith that pleases God...being narrow in thought is a strength if on the right path...wandering dangerously in our thinking is unwise... Math 7[14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

    God bless you...my friends...

    Alvin,
I wrote on the forum today in response to your post that contained all of the questions posed to ‘bible Christians’. I must confess my reason for what I wrote. I am not Catholic, I attend a Baptist church, however, I am concerned that some of the things that Protestants or ‘bible Christians’ hold to be true cannot be validated.

The questions that you posed are questions that I am dealing with now in my faith. So what I wrote on the forum today was not so much in response to your question but more for my own benefit as I work through many of the questions that you posed.

I am glad you posted what you did and I hope that it causes meditation and prayer for those who read it, instead of strife.

I appreciated your clear break down of the end times, just wanted to let you know. Also, I don't think the Catholic Church is the only anti-christ...but any one, any thing or any theology/belief system which is against Christ and His kingdom is....at least that's what the Bible says. Have a blessed day.

Before the Anti-Christ, the Catholic Church will experience the great, "falling away" wherein a great number of Bishops, priest, nuns and lay people will embrace heretical teaching. . . thus the name.

Since only the Jews are waiting for the Christ, the Anti-Christ posing as the Christ will appear to the Jews and proclaim himself as Christ. How will he be accepted? Firstly, he will be a legally elected official, like a Prime Minister. Then, he will do what the entire Jewish people have been waiting for, which was impossible before but possible now… the rebuilding of the Temple. A Jewish prophecy states that he who rebuilds the temple is the Christ. Thus, the Jewish elected official who is responsible for the building, because of this feat, will be declared the Christ. And he will be installed in this Jewish temple of God.

At first, he will try to imitate Christ by being humble. He will be a real statesman and a great diplomat. He will win many to his side. He will even abolish all forms of idolatry thus preparing the way to be worshipped. He will perform wonders. But these wonders are either illusions or wonders that many think only God can do. These wonders will win all those destined to perish.

Seeing that the Christians claim that Christ had already been born he will initiate a cruel persecution of Christians. Many will die for the Faith.

From his winning image he will begin to show his true colors, especially with the coming of Elijah and Enoch who will expose him as a fraud and win the Jewish people to Christ and Christianity. The Anti-Christ will have them killed.

After this is the coming of Christ

Today, the fulfillment of the prophecy is at hand. The Ark of the Covenant, lost since the time of Solomon, has been found. As a consequence, the Israelites have produced all the sacred vessels needed for the Temple sacrifice. A seminary has been training the priest for the Temple services. Jerusalem has been conquered by the Israelites and proclaimed as their capital. The last obstacle is the rebuilding of the temple. And this is the greatest point of contention between the Israelites and Palestinians. . . the Temple Mount. And the intransigence of both sides consists in that the Israelites want to get back the Temple Mount where the original Temple used to stand. But this means the removal of two sites holy to the Arabs.

A little knowledge of politics will tell us who will win and what will follow, the ultimate dream of every Israelite...a religious and political center for all Jews with the rebuilt Temple as its center

We all believe different things, but does what we believe happens after death affect how we live our lives? I think it does. If I believe my sins were paid on the pyre of Calvary by my Saviors' sacrifice and that I am grafted to the vine because of His deed and now His child,I will live my life in constant gratitude to Him......and in awe of His love for me. I can never repay that kind of sacrifice, but I can live in obedience and humility in appreciation of it.
