“This book is a book about four people actually. Loretta, the cheerful and delightful girl who is off in search of all the places her "other mother" has gone to. Kirby, a boy who is misunderstood and does bad things to seek of attention. Aggie who, throughout the book, has a huge weight on her shoulder of how she will leave the Sleepy Time Motel (On the Smoky Mountains) which she has sold to Clyde Dover, and Willow that shy girl who is the daughter of the buyer of the motel who actually grows a relationship of the people in the motel. All of them run into each other at the Sleepy Time Motel, and all grow a strong bond. Willow doesn't want Aggie to leave, Loretta wants to come back the next summer, and Kirby wants to come on school breaks. Aggie, what about her? She can't leave she can't leave the smell of the air, the weeds in the grass where she talks to Harold her husband who has passed away, she can't leave the nice feeling in the hotel, and where will Ugly go to be outside not at her cousin's house that's for sure. I like Willow and all the other characters. They're like real live people with their own opinions and comments, suggestions, and personalities. The author is great at picking how each character will work. She also adds a lot of detail so you really feel like your there and there are many characters to relate to. I feel like Loretta I like to talk just like her except when she starts talking she never stops. I like how the author wrote the book she wrote it very well and it was very descriptive and the chapter always stopped at the perfect place like a suspenseful part. In all I think this book was amazing but was still boring at a few places so... I give it 4/5. I recommend this book to everyone and I think it would be a good read aloud, too.”
