I've loved reading for a long time, but how much and how often has been cyclical over the years. I read a variety of fiction and christian non-fiction. As a younger man I dreamed about the possibility of being a writer, mostly because of my love for story. I began writing my first novel this year.

Jonathan Rogers is an excellent story teller. This is a great book for all ages, but especially for the middle school reader.

This is the first book I've read by Eldridge and I'm impressed enough that I'm already loaning it out to a friend who is raising a son. Eldridge does a great job mapping the stages of the masculine journey and I look forward to using his ideas as I raise my own sons. They are cowboys now and on their way to becoming warriors and lovers. This has challenged me to guide their journey with a better understanding of the purpose for their current stage. It has also given me ideas on how to prepare them for the next stages of becoming men.

I enjoy reading biographies but on a limited basis. I'm picky that way. Bonhoeffer is not only a life worth reading about, but Eric Metaxas has done an exceptional job putting this book together and bringing to us the story of a great man, whose life has much to tell. Little surprise that this book has become one of my favorites!
