I credit my parents, both for their patience in reading with me as well as their decision to not have a tv in the home until I turned eight, for my singular love of books.

Throughout my youth the world revolved around my library card. My parents tell an anecdote during an application to middle school. The assistant principle asked, "So, what's his reading level?." They replied, "Well he just went through a dozen Louis L'amour novels." She considered for a moment and said, "Oh ok, well that's about normal for his age." With a chuckle they clarified, "No you don't understand... That was this weekend."
Needless to say, I cannot imagine life without the imaginary worlds that great literature creates. My favorites range from such stalwarts as Dune or Plutarch's Lives to once borrowed and twice forgotten titles regarding the battle of Midway.

I'm pretty sure heaven on earth involves being trapped in a ski lodge next to a roaring fireplace with a shelf full of books. Feel free to send a message as I always enjoy meeting new people and welcome reading recommendations.
