I love children's literature. I became a teacher, in part, because I never outgrew these fabulous stories. When I tried my hand at one, I was hooked! So what do I write? Here's a three-word nutshell:
ADVENTURE: I won't read a book that doesn't take me to a new, exciting world. Won't write one either.
INNOCENCE: My target audience is between 9 and 15. Kids. They shouldn't be marketed profanity or inappropriate material. Instead, I rely on fun, solid story-telling.
SUBSTANCE: I prefer stories with some depth to them. Heroes who grow and learn and change can influence readers to do the same. Layers of meaning push readers into new areas of thinking.
You can find my books on Kindle, or if you prefer paperback, they're available at Lulu.com. Check out my homepage at http://www.michelleisenhoff.com for summaries, book trailers, lesson plans, etc.
When I'm not writing, I still enjoy keeping up with the children's genre, only now I review them on my blog as well. (http://www.michelleisenhoff.wordpress.com) I do some reviews when time allows (MOBI), so fellow authors, contact me here or at write@michelleisenhoff.com.
