Donna - I just spent more time looking at your website and 1) I love your garden; 2) I adore your tea time tradition - would love to do that myself; 3) I'll take you up on the offer of tea if I ever make it out your way.
Thanks, Donna. I have a series of pictures like this one - same face, different outfits. I love them - it's like having paper dolls again. I checked out your web site I've added the first Monastery Murder book to my TBR!
Saw your name in the Historical Fiction group and had to stop by and say I really enjoyed the first Lord Danvers book! And you mention Monastery Murders? Sounds like my cup of tea! Thanks,
Just having fun letting people know they have something of value to offer others. Sometimes as writers I am sure it can get discouraging. So if as a blogger I can encourage an author, and reach others for Christ...well, hey...let's rock and roll!
Getting off for the night to take care of my son. He got really sick today as soon as the patch for nausea came off, I figured this would happen. the Dr called in more patches which I appreciate and so does Tim! He is starting to feel better and tomorrow is an appt for the ENT! We will see then what he says.....
I have had already 3 bites! I hope they take....
That is why I believe as Christians we can influence the world wide web by constantly putting up Godly material for people to read, and keep doing it. I know it isn't welcomed or embraced by people, but too bad, as I see it. I know they are arguing with God, to me that is a lost cause. Maybe when we get to heaven we will see people there who would otherwise might not be because their hearts were touched by God through a story in a book. If I remember right, is this not what Jesus did?
I thank you for your help too, so many people aren't willing to help but compete instead. I wonder if Christians remember that what we have, be a gift of writing, encouragement what have you, it is to be used for God's glory first and foremost not to compete for the bucks. I know we have an economy that uses money, but heavenly economy is different..we let Him do the blessing when we obey and give what we have to others. Nothing wrong with making a living, competition is part of the marketing "game". I come from a business family, we can all make a living or bless others without being competitive in a "cut throat" kind of way. Again my heart felt thanks! Let's keep planting for the Kingdom!
me too girlfriend, me too!~
Let 'em know I am here, and I believe I am dependable and my blog......
put the line out with the bait and by the grace of God we'll reel 'em......
I really want to impact the world to read books that are glorifying to God and not so much of the evil, yucky stuff I see...it is so offensive! For instance, I get tweet requests from people who I know need the Lord, but because of what they tweet I have to decline them....
I worked in some rough areas in Chicago when I graduated college with my BS.....it takes a whole lot to shock me.
It just is sad to see post such profanity and vile stuff....rejecting God in the process.......
We can be vessels God uses to show them the Truth and Love of God!
I was wondering if there wasn't sme historical reference to the writing knowing your love & devotion to research!
1) When and why did you start writing?
2) Why British history instead of something else?
3) What started you writing GLASTONBURY? Where did the research for this book take you and why so long to write it?
4) Where did the inspiration come from for your latest series MONASTERY MURDERS?
5) Will you share what you are working on now and what readers can look forward too in the future?
Okay those are what I would ask you if we were talking face to face! :)
I agree with what you wrote about the characteristics of Jesus and it not being in reference to gender.
email address is: email@example.com
Thank you Donna!
Are you close to other authors who might be willing to interact with me?
Hello! I was wondering if you would like to do a guest post for me to post on my blog. It can be whatever you want, it can be about you, one of your books, whatever, the door is wide open! I want to promote your books more!
Also I am 1/2 way through DARKLY HIDDEN TRUTH is the character that writes about "Mother Jesus" made up, in any writings, do you believe this?
You can follow via the blue button or Networkedblogs which is underneath the small pics showing who is following me.
I may try to put your website on my blog so readers will go there.
The Lord is teaching me how to write reviews, b4 this I never did anything even remotely similiar. I also that the Lord that either my girlfriend, who I told you about, or my hubby do the editing :)
PS: I am 1/2 way through the 1st monastery murder book. I want to get that done soon as I am participating in Kregels tour of the 2nd book!
If you could go to my blog and maybe follow then you will know what I write and when.
Just a thought.
Have a good evening my friend.
Thanks for the note, I don't mind it taking awhile, figured your a busy lady!
Glad to hear it is coming out in digital format, you are right in saying it is heavy too! lol
I told my girlfriend she could get a work out while reading it :)
Thanks for your prayers.
My girlfriend and I each received out Glastonbury book within the last 1 1/2 weeks. In today's society I think many would be not inclined to read so rich a book as I see it is with just looking through it and preparing to read it. Have you thought of making it into an electronic book or even breaking this book down to more manageable bite sized pieces that would more than likely encourage people to read it then a book over 800 pages? I would think having poured yourself into this book to not find a way to refresh it for today's Christian would be truly sad.
Right now I could use some encouragement and comfort. I am feeling overwhelmed to be sure. My youngest son has to have inner ear surgery two weeks from today, this is the 6th surgery my son has had to endure in 18yrs of life, same ear. On top of that my mother in law is being a pain the donkey making care taking for her 200% more difficult than it needs to be. Plus I am fighting either a cold and/or bronchitis, so I need to get better as my son wants me to be there for him on the day of surgery. (I want to be there too)
I am fighting back tears as I write this bc I don't want my son to think he is being a burden or what have you, he is so tender hearted!
Please keep us in your prayers, I am overwhelmed, overtired and done. All this comes on the heels of spending $2000 for van repairs and a new hot water heater, etc.
Having grown up in a family business and having once been in business, schooling and all....it is a deep sadness that the Body of Christ publishers have to go by the $$$ signs. I won't rest till your third book is out!!!! (laughing our loud!!!!) It makes me feel better to say it and make fun about it! Your 1st Monastery series is captivating, my girlfriend can't wait till I am finished so she can read it before reading the 2nd, which both of us have a copy of! I am doing a review for Kregel, she got a copy from Amazon! Keep writing dear sister and friend in the faith! Never let your light dim!
Wow 3 years! I have no doubt that I will enjoy it. I am in the thralls of the Monastery book, engaging though I am still looking for a better word to describe it. It is just caught me, and I know my friend and I will really enjoy the other one as well, praying the publisher does the third one, or else he/she will have two very upset women! (lol) :)
