Guess what---I was thinking of the Winter Sea, not the Distant Hours. I did enjoy the Distant Hours, but I have to admit, I was more fully taken in by Yearsley's The Winter Sea. Highly recommend after you finish reading Distant Hours.
Ohhh...The Distant Hours. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! I haven't read Corrag...but I did read Coronach. I finished it three months ago and still trying to absorb it. A difficult read. Similar Scottish political setting. Have you read anything by Michael Cox? I have two of his on my shelf...loved them. Unfortunately,he passed away after the second book, but well worth the back-to-back read.
Hi there! Saw your note on the yahoo board about my review of Catherine Wilson's When Women Were Warriors, so since I just arrived on Shelfari, I'm following you!
I didn't know you are an author! I'd love to read some of your work, have a recommendation for me? I haven't been reading as much this year as I did last year, but I'm trying to make up for that right now by devouring a few books that have been sitting on my shelf for a while. Otherwise, I'm an aspiring opera singer, which really means that I work a desk job 9-5 and sing as much as possible. (I also have a couple voice students...) That all keeps me pretty busy, as does hanging out with my friends and roommates. We throw lots of dinner parties and watch lots of movies. (I love cooking!)
Ha! I wish he was mine. That's a friend's kid... maybe I should post a new picture of myself! Little Tenzin is quite adorable, though. How are things with you?
Hey Baxter, this is Tim, the leader of the LGBT group. Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to start a "What did you read in July?" thread like you had for June and May? I think it would be great to hear what people have been reading, and I thought I'd ask you to begin the discussion. Only if you want. :-) Hope all is well.
Tim
