I have been looking forward to the story of Talon, one of Mathias' royal guards, and Mathias' sister, Chloe, and was happy to finally read it.

If you like childhood friends to lovers, then this book is right up your alley. I was a bit frustrated, however, that it seemed to take forever for them to finally get together! One of the major problems was they were both on different continents!

Chloe feels unwanted and has a huge need to prove herself and that's what she sets off to do. The whole situation was definitely needed to kick start something in Talon but when they finally do get together, they don't waste any time. There are quite a few hot and sexy scenes especially the one on the motorcycle!

There's a lot of betrayal and espionage-ish (yep that's a word!) events going on. Almost everyone is suspect and it drove me a bit batty. A lot had to do with having an almost new set of characters to get to know. But...the bad guys are still really bad and always seem to be one step ahead. And with all the twists and turns, it had me doubting who I thought was bad! So even though I thought I knew who the "traitor" was, I was still surprised. I guess that makes for a good story. I also really hate Luca at this point but thankfully we didn't get to experience his evilness like we did with the first book.

Speaking of new characters, there are quite a few yummy ones...namely Daniel, David, Michael and Makane to name a few. I'm hoping that they will continue in the next story but there isn't any info on Infinite Desire yet. I'm hoping it's Tre's story but if it is, it seems it will be set in New Orleans. I really loved the interaction between Talon and Tre and I'm hoping that will continue.

I enjoyed how things tied up but I was left wanting more especially about Mina and Chloe's relationship and how things would work out with Chloe and Talon. It was a bit frustrating to not get some more details but it does make you want to read the next book!

One last note...I had mentioned in my review for the last book that the writing style felt a bit choppy. While I still think there are some problems, I'm happy to say that things seemed to flow a bit better and it was easier to immerse myself in the story.
