I'm an avid lover of words, in books and in my brain. My reading interests tend towards creativity, self-development, and inspirational; however, an intriguing story will definitely pull me into its vortex.

I jokingly refer to myself as a “creative eclectic” because I’m a compulsive artistic multi-tasker. I’m self-publishing my first book entitled, Refrain from the Identical: Insight and Inspiration for creative eclectics, through Createspace. This experience has been a case study in unrealistic timelines and underestimation of what it takes to self-publish a book. Yet I’d do it all over again because it has stretched my abilities beyond what I imagined possible. The Createspace teams have made my dreams come true, and I’m now addicted to the process.

By day, I’m a middle school literacy teacher committed to teaching struggling students to read, write, and dream. I run a high tech program called READ 180 created by Scholastic Inc. « less
