I was born in England and raised in Canada. I moved to Florida where I owned an Arthur Murray Dance Studio and lived on a 52 foot schooner; I water-skied, scuba-dived, sailed, and danced. Life was wonderful and exciting. I eventually moved to Santa Monica where I raised three children. At this time I began to sell real estate, and eventually ended up as Vice-President, and Residential Sales Manager of a large firm. It was fun working in Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Venice and Marina del Rey. My husband and I owned a power boat and we spent many hours riding up and down the California coast and visiting Catalina Island. Almost everything is the book is born of experience, except the sex clubs and bondage parlors. That came to me second hand. Honest!! I had a dear friend, a psychologist, who advised me what to read. And I had a newly-divorced hairdresser who gave me a blow by blow description of the L.A. sex clubs and even the bondage stuff. My husband and I had great fun with researching the equipment used in S&M at a local porn shop. I decided to become a writer when I attended a class at UCLA, called "Writing The Best Seller"with my friend and found a wonderful mentor. After years of practice and always belonging to a writers group, I produced Deadly Pleasures. Last year for Christmas my husband gave me the gift of publishing it. At the time we did not know he would pass away six months later. Having the book to edit, publicize etc has saved my life, and along with my new grandson has not eliminated the grief but has certainly mitigated it. So to anyone who wants to write, you are never too old, and all you have to do is START.
