“Before i got this book, my friend Luke Jensen, said he didn't like how they explain things. So I decided to give the novel written in verse a try to prove him wrong. I was curious because i had never read a novel written in first (except Dr. Suess but that was like, "The hat loved that bat with a cat."). So I picked up the book "Unlocked" by Ryan G. Van Cleave from the library and started to read in Mrs. Larson's class. Before I knew it, my head was deeper into the book than Alice in wonderland. The characters were miserably amazing, (yes it's confusing, it means the character is miserable but amazingly thought out) and their story was well thought out too.
I thought the figurative language in this book was greatly placed but there could have been more. For example, "My life's a twisted knot," which was a metaphor that really stuck out to me and told me more about the main character. Figurative language surprised me all throughout the book; when i wasn't expecting it.”
