“This book follows the life of a young boy named Karim who lives in Palestine. He is struggling because of the new curfew brought down by the Israeli military. Karim soon meets a mysterious boy named Hopper who takes Karim to a soccer field covered to rubble. Soon Karim, Hopper, and another boy named Joni begin to build a fort behind the rubble in an old car. Meanwhile Karim's bother Jamal is being strange and throwing stones at Israeli tanks. Soon Karim finds himself trapped in the fort alone during a curfew. When he eventually gets out Karim gets shot! Read the rest to find out what happens next!
I did not like this book. I found it very boring and uninteresting in most parts and the characters in my opinion were not very developed and thought out. The story was not very believable and it was predictable. The ending wasn't very interesting either.
I would not recommend this book to others. I would give this book a rating of 4 out of 10 stars because the only part that i found interesting was when Karim got shot, here is a quote from that part: "Karim is that you?"
"Jamal are you there?"
"Yes it's me"
"What are you doing here during the curfew?"
"Looking for you of coarse"
So that's why i didn't really love this book.”
