This is a good book to have in the classroom, probably the whole series. It is fun and it has rhymes. It is a good way to teach basic words and practice reading.

This book is wonderful! It is a creative way to explain about teeth to children. It explains baby teeth and permanent teeth. The book also confronts the issue of going to the dentist. There is a small quiz in the back of the book since it is "Tooth School."

This is a story that can also be found in Spanish; it is originally a Spanish tale. It teaches of kindness and is a bit of a creation myth. Lucia serves as Mother Nature and teaches the villagers to treat everyone with kindness.

This is a good book that can be used to introduce segregation and such. I'm a bit confused by the plot line, or maybe lack thereof. I will have to read this one again before I do anything with it. It is a Caldecott book.

This book is a good way to introduce the rain forest and the difference between our lifestyles and people of the rain forest or even Native Americans. It also introduces colonization.

I love this book! It teaches kids about group work. Everybody has to cooperate in order for the group to be successful. I also love the fact that the Backstreet Boys are in it! Of course, my kids might not be interested in this one as much as I am, but it would be nice to have in the room.

I like this book for a classroom especially. Many kids probably don't think about what their teachers do outside of school. This book explores a little boy's thought about his teacher and what he actually discovers.

This book is about a little girl that has to live with her uncle because her parents can't find work. It is interesting because the story is told through the little girl's letters. The pictures are great!

This is another book that has been made into a movie. It is a story about a cursed family and a boy that is wrongly convicted and punished for a crime that he did not commit. He learns a lot through his punishment and makes a lot of friends in the process.

I love this book! The movie doesn't do the book justice, but rarely do they. The plot line reminds me a lot of The Lottery, which I read when I was in high school. In the book, the nation is split into districts. Each year, the districts are forced to offer up a male and female teenager for the hunger games. In these games, the teenagers must fight to the death, until there is only one left.
