This is a delightful who-done-it mystery! A fun, entertaining summer read. A sleepy little town, along the sea in MA, is rocked when a longtime resident is murdered. He was a prickly old fishermen who seemed to be either loved or hated by the town's residents ... so the list of suspects is long. Nell and her friends, who share a passion for knitting, seek to solve the murder but not before one of them is actually suspected of the crime.

This is the story of a woman who upon surviving cancer is challenged by her daughter to take a white water rafting trip. She is terrified to do so, but her friends encourage her to accept the challenge in celebration of her recovery. She agrees, but only if her friends will agree to also face a challenge that scares them ... that SHE chooses. Along with learning each challenge selected, you will learn why it was chosen and what it will ultimately mean in each friend's life. This is an excellent book club read for women of all ages.

This was a wonderful summer read! Filled with all the intrigue and plot twists and turns of life at the royal court in Russia, this book is about the "making" of Catherine, The Great. The story is told from the viewpoint of a woman, brought to the palace as a child, who is taught to spy. Very quickly, she learns to have her own best interest at heart and becomes proficient at giving and taking just the right amount of information to protect herself while sating the appetites for information all around her. As she rises in her importance at court, so does Catherine ... both obscure women that could have gone unnoticed in the vast Russian court ... but did not by their own choosing.
