Hello :) My name is Mika Salazar and I am 22 years old. I currently an enrolled at Arizona State University, where I am working towards a degree in Elementary Education. I recently switched from Secondary, because I feel I would enjoy working with smaller children a lot more than ones that are close to the same size as me lol. Seriously, though, I enjoy being around kids and knowing I can be a part of their learning experience is exciting.

As of right now, I am working full time and going to school full time. This doesn't leave much room for leisure, but I enjoy a book from time to time when I get the chance. I enjoy reading all type of genres; however, I am not a big fan of the biographies. They are the real life stories, but I find myself getting warped into fantasy fictions. If I am able to grasp a vivid picture of what I am reading, then I am sure to like it. My favorite author would have to be Chuck Palahniuk out of the ones I have come across so far. He has a very sardonic humor that catches my attention through each book of his. I have all but two of the books he has written, but plan on changing that soon :)

After adding this account, I was surprised as to how much I enjoy this website. I think this is a good way to keep track of the books I plan on reading, without pushing them to the side later. I am curious to see how this will help me in my future career and looking forward to using this as a helping tool throughout my Children's Literature course. « less
