I really like the way it was written. It's a prequel and all throughout the book it explains what happened before and why everything is how it is. I was really suprised in it because all throughout the books it says that a horrible sickness started from the sun's flares, but it really started when people from Alaska shot arrows that was infected at people on purpose.
The plot would be just to explain why things happened in the first books. I believe that a very important word is the Flare. It's the name of a sickness that ends up ruining the charecters in this and previous's lives. I wish that they would change the end to having Lana live. I really liked her but in the book around the end she died.
I really liked Deedee because no matter what she would stay with everyone. She's also immune to the Flare so she can't get sick and go crazy. Her family abanded her when they found that out thinking that demons posses her. She is found by the other people in the book. She stays strong thoughout it all and doesn't give up.
When the arrows are shot at the people in Mark's city I think is the most importent part of the book. It's the reason everything happened, and why they went on their jorney. I learned that friends can always help you no matter what. This is because in it the people and their friends are always saving each other and pull though by helping everyone.”
