The book sounds like it is getting very interesting at this point. Have you found out anything more about The One in your latest reading? I'm really looking forward to hearing more about it.
How do Jayfeather and Lionblaze feel about being a part of something so huge? What will their roles be as part of The One?
Why/how are there three parts to The One? What does each one contribute?
How will the prophecy change the lives of the cats in the clans in your opinion?
Good job so far,
So what happened next? Was it really the best part?
What is the role of The One? There must be some sort of prophecy or something, right? What does The One do?
So what do you think will happen next in the story? What questions has the author left you with?
Talk to you son,
So what happened next? Did Jayfeather stay with their clan? What was he doing out alone?
Do cats ever switch clans? What do you think would happen if they tried?
Why are the Riverclan and Ivykit's clan not getting along?
What happened after that?
Hey there Kayla,
Do the twolegs have good relationships with the Warrior cats? Are there housecats in these stories? Do they ever escape and join the clans?
What's happened in the story? It's been awhile since I have heard anything about the story. What has been the most exciting part?
What haven't you enjoyed about this book?
So I get that there are three cats, but what are they supposed to do? Are they supposed to learn the prophecy? It seems confusing to me too.
What do you think the cats should do to survive better? Can they migrate? Why or why not? What would you do if you were a clan leader?
Are there any humans in this story? I'm not sure I understand the setting (time/place) of this series. Is it another world, like a cat world? Or is it during prehistory? Explain.
So what does the prophecy say? It seems strange to have more than one 'chose one'. Maybe the chosen few would be better?
Why are the cats at war? What are they fighting over?
What else have you learned from your reading? What is the conflict of the story?
So what has happened in the story? What is the basic plot? Conflict? I want to know a bit about the book so we can talk about it better.
What do the cats do that is 'realistic'? You didn't really explain your answer and that is what I am really looking for.
What are the differences between the clans (besides their names)? Which one is the best in your opinion? Explain.
OK. Pick a book you want to do. I have lots of good ideas though, especially about books with dogs as main characters. You should The Underneath.
Tell me about the Warriors book. What's it about? Why did you pick it?
Are the cats in Warriors realistically portrayed? Why or why not?
I really liked your last response, especially the part about your own dog. Give me a final review on Y2K-9. Would you recommend it to others?
Tell me about Dog Diaries. Is it written from the perspective of a dog? Do you find it to be realistic? I want to know what the book is about.
What is on your reading list next?
_____ Followed Directions 18
_____ Appropriate time spent 20
_____ Neatness 18

92 You have done a good job overall this quarter Kayla. Keep pushing yourself to get deeper with your responses. Try to answer the hows and whys of plot events and not just the whats. Try to offer opinions and ask more questions. Pay attention to grammar as well, it all counts towards part of the final grade. But I am happy with how hard you work and the growth you've shown. Keep it up.
That is cool that you like dogs so much. Three dogs are a lot, you must be awfully busy taking care of them. What are their personalities like? Which one would be the best subject of a book? What would the book be about?
If you want more books with dogs you could read The Unexpected Journey, Old Yeller, The Underneath or Where the Red Fern Grows. I would recommend any of those.
What has happened in your books? I'm not sure we decided to concentrate on one, so tell me a little about both.
Which is better in your opinion? Why?
You're reading two books about dogs? When did you get so interested in dogs? Do you have one?
Tell me an interesting encounter or time you've had with a dog.
How did Y2K-9 end? Would you recommend this book?
What is Dog Diaries, Barry about? Why did you choose it?
Tell me one new thing you've learned about dogs from these two books.
Keep up the good work,
