How are you enjoying Percy Jackson? I didn't know you had read any of the series.
What have you liked about it so far? What was the best part?
Who is the better sidekick for Percy; Grover or Annabeth? Why?
What parts or elements of Greek myths have you noticed in the book? Give me details.
Talk to you soon,
I have lots of recommendations, so come ask me.
Don't forget to review the book on your bookshelf.
What would be a good alternate title for that book? I really don't like Sea of Monsters, it's too ordinary.
What was the worst part of the book? Explain. I think it was probably all the lovey dovey mushy stuff between Percy and Annabeth. Yuuuuccckkkggghh.
Let me know what book you pick to read next.
Can you please have your real name as your profile or at least in parentheses? It's hard for me to tell who this is when you don't have your name AND you change it all the time.
What is Camp Half Blood like as as school? What do they teach? What do kids do? Would you want to go there? If you don't understand a question, you should ask your parents for help until you see me.
Besides Percy Jackson, who is the best character? Why?
How did Thalia get poisoned? What is the cure?
Where are they searching for the cure? Are they making good decisions in your opinion? Why or why not?
What has happened in the story?
Do you know what Sea is full of monsters yet? What does the title refer to?
Hey there Jackson,
So one last quick question about Danny, Champion of the World- why is poaching so bad?
What is Sea of Monsters about?
Who is the best character besides Percy Jackson? Explain.
What is the conflict in this story?
What Camp Half-Blood like as a school? Do you think it would be a place you would want to attend? Why or why not?
Which cabin would you be in? Who would be your one god/goddess parent? Why? Explain.
I am really impressed by your responses lately. I love the details and the background information you give. It shows good thinking.
Why does Danny's dad have to poach? Why doesn't he want Danny to know? I think the wagon/carriage is like a trailer. Does living in this trailer make Danny different than the other kids around him? Why doesn't he have any friends?
What do you admire about Danny? Does he have any negative characteristics?
Tell me what happened next in the story.
What made you decide to focus on Danny instead of Report Card? Do you like it so far?
Did Danny have any kind of education before going to school? I mean, could he read or write or do any math?
How did his mom's death affect him?
He lives in a cage? That sounds horrible! Can you tell me a bit more about that? It sounds important to the story.
What is the deepest darkest secret? Does it affect his relationship with his dad?
Tell me anything else you think I ought to know.
You did a nice job on your work for Wonder. Did you like it? Would you recommend it to others? Write a review for it and then review it for your bookshelf on Shelfari.
What are you reading now? Tell me a bit about it. I want to know about the setting, characters and beginning plot events.
Talk to you soon,
Hi George (Jackson),
I hope you are still enjoying the book, I feel like it has a lot of important lessons in it that people can use in their everyday lives. Auggie sounds like a brave person in a lot of ways. Agree or disagree? Explain.
You said Via helps Auggie and looks after him a lot. What does Auggie do protect himself? How does he usually react when people make fun of him or talk about him?
What do you think you would do if you saw people you know making fun of someone 'different'? Do you think it would be difficult to do that? Explain.
What has happened to Auggie lately in the story,
Thanks for thinking!
I'm glad you picked Wonder. I've heard it's a wonderful book and I can't wait to get started with our conversations.
Tell me about Auggie. Is it fair the way he is treated? What advice would you give Augie in dealing with his problems?
How does Olivia help Auggie? Does she ever see it as a burden? She seems like a very kind person.
Don't the teachers help Auggie at all? What would you expect from the teachers at Beecher Prep? Is the school at all like Key? Explain.
Keep up the good work,

Comments: 93 Jackson (George?), you have really shown some improvement since the beginning of the school year. I am happy that you are finding books that you like and that you are spending time reading and thinking about your responses. You do a nice job with the details and are really getting deeper by providing the hows and whys to the questions. Keep pushing yourself and don't be satisfied, always look to do more.
I think your antics would fit pretty well into a Soup story. Maybe it could be good inspiration for a personal narrative to write.
Do you think Soup is a good friend to Robert? How might Robert be a good influence on Soup?
What are you reading now? Tell me a bit about it.
I totally agree with you! Soup is the troublemaker and Robert is a good kid... except when he is around Soup. Do you think Robert can take some of the responsibility? What should he do instead? Give an example from the book and maybe a better way for Robert to handle it.
You never answered the question about your favorite part. I always liked when they roll down the hill in a barrel. What is the funniest/craziest thing you've ever done with a friend? Tell me about it.
Why do you think Soup does the things he does? He doesn't seem like a 'bad' kid.
Looking forward to hearing back from you,
I'm glad that you enjoyed the book. Carl Hiassen is such a good author and I like how he weaves environmental issues into his stories. Try another of his books if you get a chance. I think a new one just came out.
What do you think of Soup (the book) so far?
What kind of boy is Soup? How about Robert? How are they different?
Describe rural Vermont in the 1920's. What kinds of things is there for boys to do? Would you want to live there and then? Why or why not? It seems like you have to make a lot of your fun then and there. It seems like the boys find a lot of trouble too.
What is the funniest misadventure they have gotten themselves into so far? Do you think you would enjoy hanging out with Soup and Robert? Why or why not?
