I am a high school English teacher in South Dakota. I started implementing Shelfari in my classroom a year ago, and I have had great success with it! I graduated from the University of Sioux Falls in 2005 with a degree in English and Journalism, and I earned my master's degree from the University of Missouri in Curriculum and Instruction in 2009.

Thanks for adding me as a friend. I'm already having fun with this. I can't wait to get my group from my class going. I introduced it yesterday, and some of my students seemed reallly interested. Thank you so so much for bringing this GREAT idea to us. Deb K.

Hey, no problem regarding keeping it private. I just saw your group and thought I could see how you were doing it so I could encourage our teachers to do the same. I, actually, teach computer education at the junior high level, but, by seeing what you were doing, as well as a couple of others, I was able to get some ideas. As a matter of fact, one of our 6th grade teachers just started using Shelfari with her Advanced kids and they are LOVING it. In my class, the other day, they were so excited about it, that they were showing the students, who aren't in Advanced, what they were doing and telling them all about it. THAT'S, seriously, cool. Kids excited to share what they are reading and how they are interacting about it. Thank you for giving me enough info. to help our LA teacher get it up and running, and thank your kids for me for being a great example of how cool this can be!

I hope you don't mind that I'm looking at what's going on in your group. I am a computer education teacher in Downers Grove, IL and am interested in ways other educators are using various Web 2.0 applications. Is this the first time you have used Shefari in your class? I think it's a great idea and, if you don't mind, I would like to come back as the semester moves forward to see how this progresses. Very cool!!
