    Kind,
Wow, what an eclectic, wonderful book shelf. Browsing through your shelf is like walking into a small town, privately owned book store on a rainy afternoon; and after an hour of delightful exploration, walking out with a new list of books to read that you never knew existed. I'll check back when I'm ready to select my next book.

Hey, by now you're probably done. I read it this last weekend. I liked it....but I was a disappointed. The scene with the kids didn't ring true for me.

Amazing. Actually, though, I thought the ending was a little contrived. Darn it! The book freaked me out enough to where I don't want to see the movie. I liked it, even with the deus ex machina ending.

You don't like burgeoning cheese? Whatever.

The structure part was good, okay okay, but I am a character-driven reader, apparently. I did like the distinct regions, and I especially liked how she included details like the different breads. The Hunger Games were started as retribution for uprising (I'll show you hungry, maybe), right? It definitely hearkens back to the sacrifices before harvest, etc, but it's confusing that all the regions would have to do it if some are doing so well-- it wasn't much of a punishment. So maybe depending on necessity, it takes on a different meaning to each region?

It was okay, but even as a 9th grader I think I would have been irritated by the burgeoning love relationship-- it just seemed cheesy to me.

yeah some definite good stuff... I actually read them this summer mostly and never got around to posting a lot of them. I'm really digging the whole sex/science combo right now.

Edgar Sawtelle: AWESOME writing, but you'll hate the ending. Nancy's sister practically wouldn't speak to me after she read it and I recommended it. I couldn't put it down, though. Brilliant bright spots, horrid villians, great writing.
