I would definitely recommend the Protector of the Small and Pierce's Bekka Cooper books (of which there are only two so far with a third to come). My fantasy tastes tend towards low fantasy and that is why I like Pierce. My (Now ex-) wife told me it was best to read Pierce's Tortall books in order but I can argue that each sequence can be read on its own.
no problem. I'm one of those people that read a lot, and know like to share :P
I liked Turncoat more than I thought I would. I had not cared for Morgan much in the past, and I had some doubts that I would like a story where he played such a pivotal role. And, in all honesty I expected him to be alive and cleared by the end.Oh, I scanned your shelf real quick and saw Tamora PIerce on your shelf (I think). Have you read her Protector of the Small or Bekka Cooper books yet?
Wow-I see that you really like the Dresden Files books (and my daughter and I share your love for the books). What did you think of Turncoat?
You always seem to have books that I'd be interested in reading but can't find at a store. Not sure why. Did you enjoy Moon Called?
Awesome! And I understand I also like "the dark side" :)
I found this little nugget on Maria's MySpace page!! "I am hard at work on my sixth "Study" novel, which will be the third Glass Book (untitled right now) which is due out in September 2010."I don't understand how she's already on her sixth Study novel, unless she's counting her short stories...
I'm reading Sea Glass now and I'm really enjoying it so far. I love Maria V. Snyder's writing. I'm really hoping she keeps the series going. I heard that she's starting a new one. http://www.mariavsnyder.com/books/InsideOut.php It doesn't seem like it'll be as good. Then again, maybe I'm just a bit biased. lolHave you read Sea Glass yet?
Puddleduck Puddleduck wants to knowShould I read The Fairy Godmother: A Tale of the Five Hundred? This book is not as meaty as many of Mercedes Lackey's other books. It looks like you like things a little dark. It was a very "fluffy" book. Not one of my favorites
Your books by Maria Snyder have such attractive covers! Are they as good as they look? I love books with gorgeous covers... LOL. Is there romance in her books?
I'm glad you liked it! I got so excited when Ari and Janco showed up. I love those guys.I'm subscribed to her mailing list, too. I wish she'd right another Study book. The short stories just don't satisfy me enough. lol
I hope you enjoy it!Thanks again for your recommendation of Storm Front. I plan to start reading it soon :)
Hi Puddleduck (nice name btw),you said i should read the Obernewtyn Chronicles.why? what is it about? what other books do you think someone that liked this book would like?
Yeah... I will have to look into those... they seem interesting! I don't mind simplistic... sometimes I prefer when I am not in the mood to think!!
I have never heard of Isobelle Carmody.... I see them in your bookshelf. They look interesting.... Do you really like her books?
Well thanks I will have to check that out!=)
Thats gret maybe we can help eachother with books?=)and no what is the Study trilogy by Maria V. Snyde??
