    Hi Shirley,
I hope you won't mind my sharing the fact that today is the official release date of my 2nd novel, A NATURAL WOMAN (Kensington/Dafina).

The novel revolves around Dr. Aliesha Eaton, a young anthropology professor who seemingly has it all--a nice teaching gig, a respected role in her church and an adoring boyfriend. However, while searching for the right someone to cut and style her natural hair, she finds herself drawn to a dark, handsome, mysterious barber named Dante. Unfortunately, Dante's disappearance within hours of their first night together leaves Aliesha wondering if he'd been out to play her from the start, or if he's become a victim of foul play at the hands of either her spurned boyfriend, or . . . yet another man from her recent past.

If you are interested, you can read the first two chapters of A NATURAL WOMAN on my website: www.lorijohnsonbooks.com

    Best Regards,
    Lori

I would like to introduce my debut novel, Secret Betrayals for your reading pleasures.

Meet Jasmine, Toya and Chante – three new millennium women doing it for themselves – by any means necessary.

Jasmine Reeves has it all – a good education, a cool job, a man who loves her and a man she loves too. Unfortunately they’re not one in the same. After falling hard for her friend's husband, Jasmine has to figure out what direction her life is going to take. Should she stay with her faithful but lackluster boyfriend of five years or should she allow herself to continue to be played by the man who has her heart - even if it means stabbing her girl in the back? When what happens in the dark ultimately comes to light, will she hide her nasty secrets or will she expose them for the world to see, despite the consequences?

Toya Johnson loves the luxuries of life and has no problem using the world’s oldest profession to obtain them. However, when she unexpectedly finds the man of her dreams, she can’t seem to shake the past that keeps coming back to haunt her. Addicted to the money and power that accompany her lifestyle, Toya keeps telling herself that she’ll only do it “one more time”. Will she ever get out of “the life” and allow herself to experience the “happily ever after” she's always wanted or will the past refuse to let her go, taking her down with it?

Chante Summers has a handsome and successful husband who provides for her in every way. What more could a girl want, right? Unfortunately some people are never satisfied. Bored with the housewife routine and a husband whose bedroom skills are less exciting than a can of paint, Chante has no choice but to satisfy herself in other ways. But when the close calls and drama become too much to handle, will she be able to give up her extra curricular activities or is she too addicted to thrill, even if it threatens to destroy her?

When lust, deceit, and betrayal collide, will these three women have what it takes to overcome it? Or will they be destroyed by the flames of their own disturbing, dangerous, and possibly deadly Secret Betrayals.

Read the first six chapters of Secret Betrayals on my MySpace blog at http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.ListAll&friendID=100687122

    The Ancient One says

When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving much advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a gentle and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.

  • "Mz. Cool" Author of "CHUBBY": The Hydraulics of a Neurotic says

CHUBBY" is urban fiction, drama, suspense, humor, ghetto, cheating, families in crisis, mystery, horror, love & sex, a could not put down, a must read and brand new. You won't be disapointed! You'll love it! Get ready to laugh, cry, empathize, anticipate and experience the hydraulics!

Change didn't come when her father tried to open her ryes to the wrong choices she would make or when a Madame became her mentor. Or when she married the preacher's son. Not even when she became a crack addict and her girlfriend became the "snake" who CHUBBY thought was the denominator in the death of her child. Change didn't come when she was pilfered for every dime she had or when she tried to commit suicide almost rendering her insane. No, change didn't come to better CHUBBY's life until she came face-to-face with the unspeakable. Not until then was she forced to take a look at her past. Yes, this rude awakening would be the beginning of her sanity and eventually the overall sweet smell of revenge and an entire newfound life.

"CHUBBY" is the gritty soul depiction of the reclamation of an addict's dignity. One can't help but to share her agony and think that she somehow manages to escape from the clutches of her twisted life in the streets of St. Louis.
