I was so hoping you'd read one of the Dark Hunters books. Now that you have are you hooked ? I know I am. Kenyon has an excellent ability to bring the characters alive. Enjoy the rest of the series. : )

Hi Anna! Just thought I'd stop by and see what you're up to! How are things in Greece? Have you read anything good lately?

Just finished reading The Amaranth Enchantment by Julie Berry. LOVED it! Kind of a spin-off of a Cinderella tale but to me much more entertaining. I gave it five stars and put it as a favorite! It was that good!! Now I am reading Coffeehouse Angel by Suzanne Selfors.

Yes, I have read a few books in the Anita Blake series. Sorry, but I don't remember which books exactly. Hamilton has another series about the Fey that is also set around the St. Louis area. I enjoy most of her writing but some of the erotic sex scenes are too explicit for my taste at times. All in all her writing is like a trip back to my home town by way of fantasy.

How do you like Circus of the Damned ? Laura K. Hamilton is from my home town of St. Louis, Missouri. Right now I'm reading The Mane Event, and Paula Deen's book It Ain't All About The Cooking {autobiography}. She's one of my favorite American cooks and has a few TV cooking shows on Food Network.

Hahaha, I'm sure my kids will agree with you...so many languages to tackle (and I even haven't mentioned to you that they are also taking up Chinese (Mandarin to be exact) in school. Poor kids, no? :-) Oh I do hope my family will get that chance to see Greece...in the near future.
Religion, as far as I'm concern, is more on the individual's faith to his/her Creator. No matter what religion one has, what's important is how he/she lives with it and is guided by it. :-)
Looking forward to getting a mail from you...hope you got my email address.

Hahaha, the picture I saw of Volos is the one also by the sea (as well as that pic of the church)...looks huge to me. Anyway, if ever my family and I will get the chance to be in Greece, I am definitely going to check out Santorini, Athens and Volos. I want to see the place where the Greek Mythology originated. The dominant religion in our country is Roman Catholic, but lately, there has been quite a number of people who diverted into "Christianism"...although we Catholics are Christians, the diversion made some modification about a few things which they dislike in the Roman Catholic belief. Our national language is called "Filipino" which is widely spoken in the upper part of our archipelago (in Luzon...where the typhoon is now). But here in Cebu, we speak a dialect called "Cebuano" or what mostly call "Bisaya" and it's totally different from Filipino. Actually, since our country is an archipelago, we have different dialects in different places. And for us to understand each other, we speak our national language. Funny coz my kids are having a hard time learning "Filipino" since we speak mostly English and a little Bisaya at home. Now that they are taking up the language in school it has become a dilemma for them to learn it. And to think,we're Filipinos ...we should know this stuff. :-) How about you in Greece?
About the books, now I'm curious. I will probably try one of Dan Brown's one of these days. And also will check out The Name of the Rose.
This is fun Ana! I'm learning things about your country. :-)

oh I also browsed through some pics of Volos, wow, I want to see your place as well! Your city is huge!I hope you won't mind if I ask what religion is dominant in Greece? I seem to see churches in the pics. And thank you for admiring my city, too. It might be small but very rich in culture. :-)
Now to answer the question about what makes me scared, well I'd say pretty much a lot (hahaha...I'm such a scaredy-cat)...haven't seen Ju On but I've seen What Lies Beneath (well at least, half of it). Anything that seems to come out of nowhere and makes me scream and literally drags me off from where I'm sitting...that's not for me. For books, same thing...what scares me are those that comes out unexpected...scared of the unknown.

You are right to say that typhoons are a common thing here in our country...but what we had last week in Manila was something really unexpected. And it really was an eye-opener for a lot of us here(unfortunately) about how people take the environment for granted, not caring for it as much as we should...and now nature is getting back at us. I was so afraid, not much for me, but for my children...I pray that it won't happen here in our city.
I have seen the Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons...that's why I'm a bit apprehensive to read his books coz I'm afraid that they might be too scary for me, are they? Does Digital Fortress have the same scenario with the first two I've mentioned?

I actually live in Cebu City, found in the middle part of the Philippine archipelago. We are an island, so we are surrounded with water (beaches). But the weather these days are just not great for swimming (we are having two typhoons here right now...can you believe that??)...I'm just thankful that our city is spared from these two storms. Just in case you do ever get the chance to come in the future, let me know and be glad to show you around.
Is Digital Fortress any good? I haven't tried Dan Brown yet. :-)

Yes, I guess my kids are way past their toddler stages but I baby them too much :-) I'm giving my boy one more year before he can be "easy" to deal with. And then off we'll go...keeping my fingers crossed on that. Wow, you and your fiance have gone a long way, huh? I wish you both all the best. By the way, just curious, where was your profile photo taken? Is this in Greece?

Oh I enjoyed every minute while I was in the States. I learned a lot, changed me in some ways and has definitely widened my views in life. I would have wanted to stay there for good but I guess i was destined to live a different life. I learned to accept that no matter how you plan your life, if it's not meant to be, then it will never be. Had I stayed there, I wouldn't have my two wonderful kids now...my daughter is 7 and my son is 5 (not a baby anymore, but loves to act like one). Enjoy the time that you have alone with your fiance coz life won't be the same once they come...and I mean that in a good way. :-)

I enjoyed "Deception Point", but I guessed the ending half way through the book. I watched the 1st season of True Blood before I started reading the books. As you know the 1st book in the series is almost like the series, but it gets much better by the middle of the second book ! At least in my opinion. I should check out The Night Huntress series. Always looking for a good series to read and it helps if the characters are likable & have an interesting plot line.
