check out the Hobbit display in the library! have you got any books to add?
I nominate you as the official Fantastic Librarian of the Henderson Library. :-)
Very nice taste in books! You've read a lot that I have and quite a bit more that I want to.
Contratulations on finishing 'Hyperion'! *thumbs-up!* lol
I think it's awesome! Similar to Alice in Wonderland but darker. I particularly like the fact that they've included pictures drawn by the author himself as a kind of backdrop of the story. It's been almost a few years since I read them so I've forgotten some core narratives of the story but the dark lord I remember is spoiled and arrogant. . .sort of like Lord Vetirani from Discworld. But I think Lord Vetinari's more suave. . . I didn't even know there's a 3rd and 4th book so thanks for informing me. I'll definitely watch out for that :)
So what's the verdict regarding 'Unseen Academicals'? Pass or Fail?
Hi Simon, I'm glad to say that I'm now the proud owner of a copy of 'Unseen Academicals'. To my utter regret, I wont' be able to read it until the uni semester finishes. You lucky person, you. . .
I'll be looking forward on your review of the book.
Also . . . The unseen university has a football team now? . . . With the librarian as the goalie? . . . God forbid . . .
I can actually picture how that would turn out. . . Haha!
Thanks for the info simon. It's off to whitcoulls for me tomorrow. I hope they won't be sold out :)
Hi, there's a new discworld novel released by Terry Pratchett. Know anything about it? Thanks!
I just saw what's written on your profile. . . "oook"? Hahaha! If only librarians were orangutans, aye?
Thanks for the info. I'm already a fan of Terry Pratchett's Discworld but I'll give George Martin and Steven Brust a go. :)
Hey! Thanks for adding me! Selina introduced me to this site so I joined in. I see that you're a fantasy fan. Any recommendations?
Have you read a short history of nearly everything by Bill Bryson?
I enjoyed that one :-)
have you read stephen Hawkings 'a brief history of time'? I think he wrote a sequel called 'and even briefer history of time'. It was pretty short. ;-)
Hola!
Sorry I didn't recognise you]?
But then I don't look like this everyday either. hehe
I tried to read 'hitchhikers guide to the galaxy once' but must confess I couldn't get past the first page. must be distracted.
I'm not sure I want to go there...is it scary in space?
