A study of the work of Theodor Seuss Geisel, Dr. Seuss. It is the slogans, the politcal adds, the product ads and all the illustrations for all his books. Just beautiful!

  • My Mother Was Nuts

Penny Marshall shares her life stories with her reader. She does not sugarcoat the stories she tells. She simple says this is who I am and these are some of the things that happened to me.

Although wordy at times this book truly shows how hard Tony Danza worked to touch the lives of the students he taught for one year in a Philadelphia high school. I was impressed by how out of the box his thinking was in order to bring the love of literature to this children.

This book is filled with chance encounter between people. One encounter leads to another with one of the former participants and a new person. It makes a big circle right back to the first people. I enjoyed reading stories of how "famous" people met other "famous" people at odd times in their lives and the impact one meeting can have on your opinion of said person.

    After the Fall

An adult picture book about a family that loses everything and lives in Central Park with all their belongs and their help. An interesting take on how life goes on, even to the point of continuing to live as you did before ignoring the fact that you now have nothing.

  • Killing Lincoln
    • Rated 5 stars

What happened the last few days of Lincoln's life and in the immediate aftermath of his assassination. This book follows both Booth as he plans and carries out Lincoln's assassination and Lincoln last few days before his death. This book was involved but interesting. It kept me wondering what would happen next and how all the pieces of the puzzle that was the assassination fit together. Well worth the time. Excellent read.

  • The Demands
    • Rated 5 stars

A convenience store owner takes a police officer and a customer as hostages in an attempt to find out why his son died in prison. The story takes twists and turns I never expected as it moves between the man who is sent to investigate what actually happened at the young adult facility the boy was in rather than the story his parents were told. I never saw the ending coming.
