I finished PERFECT FIFTHS this morning and i loved it! Would recommend it but you wouldn't fully appreciate it if you went to it straight, you gotta somehow have a background of the characters. I read Sloppy Firsts and Second Helpings but can't really say i love loooooved them. Though the writing is good (not chick-lit type since it's really YA), it will tend to drag if it's the love angle you're after (like i was haha!). I skipped Charmed Thirds and Fourth Comings yet still enjoyed Perfect Fifths immensely .... this is the only book in the series that had the 2 main characters at the forefront practically from start to finish and i love love loooooved everything ~ their witty conversations and the kilig factors.
I finished Pride & Prejudice this morning. I cried hehehe, OA! But love stories really make me cry. I'm planning to read Persuasion for my next Jane Austen book. But i'm doing my test runs for now, i usually read a few pages of books that are potential next reads. Then the process of giving up, changing, and reading through before i can truly say what my current read/s is/are. For now, i plan to read Persuasion along with another modern-day book but for now, i'm not fully decided on anything just yet. I'm reading a few pages of Megan McCafferty's PERFECT FIFTHS, the last book of the Jessica Darling Series . I read books 1 and 2 but i'm skipping 3 and 4 and i'm going to the last book right away but i can't tell if i can indeed sustain this stuff. I'll know tonight or tom.As to chic lits, i didn't like CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC so call me traumatized by kinsella ..... i've become quite repulsive to her books after that. Much as chic lits are my guilty pleasures, i have not yet truly find one that i fell in love with. All of them, so far, were shallow and did not exactly deserve the merits given to good books. Pang relax lang talaga ng utak pero sadly, there's not one i can truly call great just yet. But if you're fine with "puwede na", of the ones i've read, puwede na rin "Bet Me" by Jennifer Crusie ..... "Jemima J" by Jane Green would be next but i hate how it ended, bitin. I really pick up romantic reads from time to time that's why i sometimes settle for "puwede na" books just to scratch the itch.
Ako rin, super na-addict dito!!!! I want to actually put everything that i want to read but i'm controlling myself .... have to limit the books to those i plan to read first, not really EVERYTHING that i want to read, baka abutin ng ilang shelves!! It will also serve as my guide when choosing my next reads. Will amend as needed instead of letting the "books i plan to read" to pile up.
Let's convince steph to revive her shelf =) Fun no? I haven't written my reviews of the books i've read .... that should keep me busy 'round here. Like i said in my header, i just put in the books i've read from '06. Convince others pa to join!
yipee you're here! =)
