One other thing I love about Hyderabad - - the delicious biryani - - especially the biryani from Paradise restaurant!The wine book has special meaning for me as it relates to a true story from Hyderabad. Years ago I attended a work function at an expensive Hyderabad restaurant. Unfortunately I made a currency conversion mistake and ended up buying a very expensive wine, quite by accident. My staff found this story quite amusing, and one of them sent me the "Billionaire's Vinegar" in jest. However the book is actually very informative; I will let you know when I post my review :)
Hi satty: Hyderabad, a beautiful city . . . I still fondly remember my early morning hike around KBR National Park in Jubilee Hills! I have not read any of the books you listed below, but Iris Murdoch is one of my favorite authors . . . at least I very much liked "The Sea, The Sea;" however I could have been prejudiced by the novel's cover - - Titian's famous painting "Perseus and Andromeda." I am a sucker for books with cover art that is aptly referenced in the novel! I trust "The Book and the Brotherhood" will be equally powerful . . . please let me know what you think!
